Job Description
Mankato Area Public Schools has openings for Early Learning Special Education Paraeducators at MAPS Center for Learning for the 2026-2027 school year. Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, this role supports special and general education teachers in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of special education students in an assigned educational program. Your Role Will Include Assisting children with meeting the goals and objectives of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Attending to the physical and health needs of students. Monitoring and reporting student progress regarding educational performance. Performing clerical and supportive duties related to classroom activities and classroom management. Qualifications 60 semester credits (equivalent to two years full-time at an institute of higher education) OR An Associate's degree (AA, AS, or AAS) OR Passing the Paraeducator assessment before the first day of employment. Pass a job-related physical screening and a comprehensive criminal background check prior to employment. Salary and Benefits Pay starts at $18.50, up to $19.72 per hour, based on experience in a public school setting. Eligible benefits, effective day one for employees working 30 or more hours per week: PERA retirement pension, 403(b) retirement matching, medical coverage, fully paid life insurance, fully paid long-term disability, paid sick leave, personal leave, emergency leave, holidays, HSA, and FSA.
