Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into an engaging role supporting middle school students by working as a highly qualified paraprofessional in a dynamic, center-based setting. This contract opportunity near Maple Grove, MN, offers meaningful interaction and hands-on support—perfect for professionals passionate about making a difference each school day.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting students with diverse needs in a center-based classroom (setting 2-3 caseload) Providing academic, behavioral, and personal care support, including toileting when needed Collaborating closely with teachers and staff to implement individualized education plans Supporting students' daily routines, transitions, and social development Maintaining a positive, respectful, and safe environment for all learners Demonstrating flexibility to adjust to daily classroom needs
Desired Qualifications:
Highly qualified status achieved by one of the following: Successful completion of the Minnesota ParaEducator (Parapro) Exam At least 60 completed college credits (official transcripts required; diplomas do not suffice) Experience as a paraprofessional in educational or special education settings is preferred Comfortable assisting with toileting as part of daily responsibilities Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Availability to start on or about August 31, 2026, through November 29, 2026, for a 90-day contract (32.5 hours/week, Monday through Friday) Willingness to pursue direct hire status with the district after completing 422 contract hours As part of this supportive school environment, you'll build valuable professional relationships and gain rewarding experience supporting young learners at a pivotal time in their education.
