Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference every day supporting students in a specialized education environment. Work on-site with students across elementary to high school levels who benefit from individualized attention and compassionate care throughout their academic day. This contract opportunity is designed for skilled paraprofessionals who are confident in supporting youth with higher needs and a wide range of abilities.
Key Experience & Qualifications:
Must meet Minnesota's Highly Qualified Paraprofessional requirement (choose one): Pass the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (attach official passing score) Or complete at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required) Previous experience as a paraprofessional or working with special education students preferred Comfortable working in Setting 4 environments with higher behavioral and adaptive needs Openness to assisting with toileting and personal care Strong team collaboration skills and commitment to student well-being Ability to relate across ages (elementary through high school); preference for age groups can be considered
Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and group support for students with significant disabilities as part of a dedicated team Implement IEP accommodations under licensed staff direction Model appropriate behavior and facilitate a safe, positive learning environment Deliver direct support throughout the classroom and during transitions Assist with activities of daily living, including toileting as needed Maintain accurate documentation and open communication with staff Additional details: 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday Contract dates: September 8, 2026 - June 10, 2027 Located near Maple Grove, MN Eligible for direct hire after 422 hours as part of a supportive school community Competitive pay of $20 per hour, based on district guidelines You'll make a genuine difference for students who benefit from your skills and compassion.
