Job Description
Heartland Lakes Community School (HLCS) is search for the right person to join our innovative staff crew as a Special Education Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 School Year. Our practices are trauma-informed, person-centered, and restorative, when needed. Our learning is hands-on, project-based and unique.
Job Overview:
The Special Education Paraprofessional assists Special Education and General Education teachers in the delivery of educational and behavioral interventions for Special Education students; also assists the Special Education student in the general education classrooms with the goal of supporting school wide educational goals. Due to the varied and individual needs of each student, Special Education Paraprofessional may provide a variety of support and should be flexible in adjusting to student needs. This may include providing personal care assistance, implementing behavior management strategies, providing one-to-one instruction and/or support.Requirements:
- High School diploma required.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 60 college credits or have passed the Para Pro Test. HLCSwill support the process.
- Flexibility to work with different situations, one-to-one, small and large groups, multiple settings.
- Effective communication with teachers, as well as students with disabilities and their families.
