Job Description

Get Directions Park Rapids Area Century School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Century Lower Elementary School as a Paraprofessional. This full-time position involves supporting teachers and students in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will assist in the implementation of instructional programs, provide individualized support to students, and contribute to a positive learning atmosphere. 9 month position. 6.5 hrs a day, Monday through Friday for the 2026-2027 School year. Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them understand and engage with the curriculum.
  • Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers as needed.
  • Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment.
  • Support students with special needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Assist with classroom management and discipline in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as grading assignments and maintaining student records.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to enhance the educational experience. Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and classroom management techniques.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and procedures is a plus.
  • Must pass a background check and comply with all school district policies and regulations.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
