Kindergarten Educational Assistant (.8 FTE) 16280 Duluth Avenue SE, Prior Lake, MN 55372 $18

  • Full-time A position is open for an Educational Assistant to support instruction and meaningful learning in our Kindergarten sections.
This person will assist teachers in working with students in literacy, math and other core-curricular areas. You will feel welcome and supported among a collaborative, hard-working and experienced group of educators as we work together to ignite the joy of learning while shaping disciples of Jesus.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 2-4
year college degree preferred with teaching experience Ability to follow and adapt lesson plans A general understanding of students' social and academic development Ability to support students to develop literacy and math skills Ability to assess and document student progress Work to meet individual learning needs of students in partnership with classroom teachers Work with small groups of children who need additional support or enrichment Advocate for students with specials needs and follow individual learning plans Contribute to the faith community of the school by personal modeling and active participation Establish a culture for learning through enthusiasm and positive reinforcements Ability to actively supervise students throughout the day and during transitions Maintain confidentiality of students, families, teachers Model professional behaviors and maintain appropriate communication with all students, parents, and staff Be present, ready to work and on time to meet all schedules and responsibilities including supervisory duties assigned by the principal (including car/bus line, playground, and lunch)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Able to work the contracted hours Lift and move up to 25
  • 40 pounds using proper techniques Able to stand, sit, and walk for long periods of time Ability to use a computer for long periods of time Ability to move from one floor to another using stairs Ability to work with children indoors and outdoors as weather conditions permit
