School Video Our New Special Services Paraprofessional will Cultivate the Catholic faith, virtuous character, and a love for learning Provide direct instruction to students; Perform limited screening and assessment; Assist with providing adaptation in classroom assignments and curriculum; Pre-teach and re-teach identified general education material; Provide alternative testing formats; Attend planning/progress monitoring meetings; Be a student's advocate to general education teachers, administrator, and parents. Support student's physical needs, including bathroom assistance if needed. Be committed to continually developing skills and improving as a paraprofessional Collaborate with general education teachers and concerning student specific IEPs, accommodations, modifications, and interventions to assist students in growing to their fullest potential Honor and support school initiatives, administrative decisions, the vision of our archdiocese, and the Catholic Church Qualifications A practicing Catholic, passionate about his or her faith A minimum BA or BS Degree (preferred) Experience working with students in an educational setting Ability to relate well to students; Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student information; Ability to take direction from and work in cooperation with teachers and supervisors; Ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision; Commitment to the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students. Able to work with students with identified learning needs, such as intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Down Syndrome. Desire to work within a team and ability to maintain a positive atmosphere with colleagues.
