Job Description

A position is open for a Preschool Assistant to support and care for children during preschool and after-school activities at St. Michael Catholic School. You will feel welcome and supported among a collaborative, hard-working and experienced group of educators as we work together to ignite the joy of learning while shaping disciples of Jesus. Primary Responsibilities
  • Work with preschool team members to provide enrichment activities during preschool and after-school.
  • Be available to work from: 8:00-5:00 pm Monday/Wednesday/ Friday & 12:00-5:00 pm Tuesday/ Thursday
  • Aftercare participation: You have an opportunity to make this role your own with the full support of the team. Aftercare fosters independence, creativity, and joy through a balance of structured and flexible activities.
  • Assist in planning, prepping, implementing, evaluating, and engage with, support, and supervise children's play and social development.
  • Provide the best possible child-focused learning environment, including light snack/meal prep, set-up, organization, and clean-up.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment that supports learning and appropriate to the developmental age and interest of all students.
  • Interact with students by talking, playing, and participating with students during activity time.
  • Maintain appropriate and safe conduct and rules of classroom behavior.
  • Maintain current, accurate, complete and correct records in accordance with requirements.
