Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a real impact in the lives of students by supporting their growth and learning this summer! Several paraprofessional opportunities are now available for summer programs, including both Comprehensive Summer Year (CSY) and Extended School Year (ESY) sessions near Shakopee, MN. These contract roles offer a meaningful way to enhance your skills while assisting dedicated educators and diverse student populations. Both full and half-day shifts are available Monday through Thursday, from 7:30am to 2pm (subject to minor variations depending on assigned programs). The summer schedule spans June 15th through June 30th, then resumes July 9th through July 23rd, providing a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience in a short-term role.
Key Qualifications:
Completion of an Associate's degree, 60 semester credits, or a passing score on the ParaPro assessment Prior background working with children with disabilities and/or in classroom or educational environments is preferred Ability to communicate effectively, follow teacher directions, and adapt to various learning styles and needs Dependable, compassionate, and committed to fostering a safe, supportive atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist lead teachers with instructional activities, classroom organization, and implementing individualized learning strategies Support students' participation in daily lessons, therapy sessions, and enrichment activities Promote positive behavior and encourage social-emotional development Help with classroom management, supervision, and daily routines Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school district protocols By joining this summer program, you'll help shape a positive, enriching experience for students while broadening your own expertise.
