Position Overview:
A management assistant/executive assistant to the Student Services/Special Education Department at the District Services Center, reporting to the Director of Special Education and providing administrative support to her and five Coordinators, as well as the District's Special Education staff. The position is year-round, Monday through Friday.
Primary Responsibilities:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to... keeping student information for approximately 1,000 Special Education students up to date, confidential, and in compliance with Due Process law in the Infinite Campus database; coordinating interviews and completing paperwork for new hires; supporting Special Education classroom teachers by completing supply orders and registering staff for professional development; processing invoices and balancing multiple purchasing cards; updating Special Education financial information in the Department of Education's SEDRA database sending and receiving student acknowledgements to other school districts; assisting in completing and submitting grants and audits to the Department of Education; collecting data for and submitting reports to the Department of Education, such as restrictive procedures; providing superb customer service and acting as a resource for students' families and Spring Lake Park staff; collecting and processing time sheets, percentage of time worked reports, and mileage reports for approximately 80 Special Education staff members; acting as the District's homeschool liaison and registrar, as well as the contact for non-public schools; keeping information on the district's website for Student Services/Special Education up to date; and other administrative duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
a 2 year AA degree or college degree and having the ability to: handle confidential information, perform tasks efficiently in the midst of frequent interruptions, and possess strong communication skills; effectively prioritize multiple, simultaneous high priority tasks; work through complex problems and show initiative and independence to find answers to questions; communicate effectively with the public, departments within Spring Lake Park Schools, other school districts, teachers, and families; provide excellent customer service in a professional, friendly, and positive manner that increases the connections, engagement, and support within and throughout our district; and work comfortably both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Desired Qualifications:
hold previous experience in an office setting as a manager, administrative assistant, secretary, and/or bookkeeper; extensive background in computer applications including: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Infinite Campus, Skyward Financial, and the Internet; and previous knowledge/experience in Special Education, with the Minnesota Department of Education, and/or Special Education financing.
Working Conditions:
Assignment is in an office in a fast paced environment with multiple high priorities.
Salary:
Group Unaffiliated 2 Position Management Assistant to Student Services and Special Education Rate of Pay $75,000.00-$88,000.00/yr Depending on Experience and Qualifications Benefits Medical, Dental, Sick Leave, 403(b), Life, LTD, FSA Other Salary pro-rated based on start date.
