Administrative Professional and Paraprofessional Contract Position Description:
The person in this position will support kindergarten students in their classroom as well as during their lunch/recess time (two hours/day). In addition, this person would be part of a recess paraprofessional team for grades 1-5 (two hours/day). The successful candidate will work 4.0 hours a day and have the chance to support the academic and social learning of students. Examples of duties include maintaining a safe, friendly and supportive classroom, lunchroom and playground; supervision of an entire classroom; small group work/support; and 1:1 student interaction and assessment.
Qualifications:
Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in a school environment Ability to make and maintain positive relationships with students and colleagues Ability to multitask and supervise students in an environment that is highly engaging Flexibility and patience Ability to take direction
