Job Description

Job Summary
The PSR Aide assists the PSR teacher/catechist in providing a safe, welcoming, and faith-filled learning environment for students. The aide supports classroom instruction, student supervision, activities, and daily classroom needs while helping promote the teachings and values of the Catholic faith.
Job Responsibilities Assist the PSR teacher/catechist with classroom instruction and activities.
Provide individual and small-group assistance to students as needed.
Help students participate in prayers, Scripture lessons, Catholic teachings, and classroom activities.
Supervise students and help maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment.
Assist with preparing and organizing classroom materials, supplies, crafts, and lesson activities.
Help students complete assignments, worksheets, projects, and other learning activities.
Encourage positive behavior and demonstrate patience, kindness, and respect.
Assist students who may need additional academic, behavioral, or learning support.
Help with classroom setup and cleanup before and after PSR sessions.
Support attendance procedures and other basic classroom recordkeeping.
Communicate student needs or concerns to the PSR teacher/catechist or appropriate staff member.
Maintain confidentiality regarding students and families.
Follow parish/school policies, safety procedures, and child-protection requirements.
Serve as a positive Catholic role model through words, actions, and interactions with students.
Perform other duties as assigned by the PSR coordinator, teacher/catechist, or parish/school administration.
Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Familiarity with or willingness to learn Catholic teachings and traditions.
Experience working with children in a school, parish, childcare, or similar setting preferred.
Ability to work cooperatively with teachers, catechists, parish staff, students, and families.
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Patient, dependable, compassionate, and able to maintain appropriate boundaries with children.
