Job Description

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary The PSR Classroom Aide supports the catechist and Parish School of Religion (PSR) program by assisting with classroom management, student supervision, lesson activities, and creating a positive and faith-filled learning environment. The aide helps ensure students feel welcomed, supported, and engaged during PSR classes and activities.

Job Responsibilities Assist the catechist with classroom preparation and instructional activities. Help maintain a safe, respectful, and organized classroom environment. Support student participation and engagement during lessons, prayer, and activities. Assist with attendance, classroom materials, and student supervision. Provide additional support to students who may need help with classroom tasks or activities. Help monitor student behavior and communicate concerns to the catechist or Assistant Director of Faith Formation. Assist during student arrival, dismissal, and transitions between activities as needed. Support parish and diocesan Safe Environment policies and procedures. Serve as a positive Christian role model through words and actions. Attend trainings or meetings as required by the parish. Job Requirements Practicing Catholic preferred Positive attitude and willingness to support the mission of Catholic faith formation Ability to work effectively with children, families, volunteers, and parish staff Strong communication and interpersonal skills Reliable, organized, and able to follow directions Previous experience working with children preferred but not required Completion of required Safe Environment training and background screening The Archdiocese of St. Louis is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
