A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.
Hiring Immediately About the Position It Takes a Village Microschool is seeking a warm, nurturing, dependable Early Childhood Assistant to join our growing learning community. The assistant will primarily provide attentive care and supervision for a toddler during the school day while also providing light support within the microschool environment as the child's needs and schedule allow. Primary Responsibilities Provide attentive, nurturing care and supervision for a toddler. Engage the child in age-appropriate play, learning, and developmental activities. Support meals, snacks, diapering, naps, and daily routines. Facilitate safe indoor and outdoor play. Maintain clean, safe, and organized spaces used by the toddler. Prepare and organize simple learning materials. Assist with learning-space setup, cleanup, and organization. Provide light support with microschool activities and routines when childcare responsibilities allow. Candidate Qualifications Previous experience caring for toddlers and/or young children. Warm, patient, nurturing, trustworthy, and dependable. Reliable and punctual with consistent weekday availability. Organized, flexible, and willing to take initiative. Comfortable working within a small, home-based learning environment. Able to communicate professionally and work collaboratively with the microschool founder. Hiring & Screening Requirements Provide two professional references with current contact information. Meet Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) requirements. Complete required fingerprint/background-check screening. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred and may be required depending on job responsibilities. Compensation & Growth Starting compensation is $15.00 per hour . Opportunities for increased compensation are contingent upon enrollment and program growth. Reliable personal transportation to and from the work location is required.
