Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity shaping positive school experiences for students across North Kansas City, Missouri. Paraprofessionals are needed to provide vital classroom and 1:1 support in various K-12 settings, including SPED classrooms. Your adaptability and commitment will empower students and support educational teams throughout the academic year, from August 25th to May 28th. This position is ideal for flexible professionals comfortable working at multiple school sites and across a diverse student caseload.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Active Substitute Certificate on the DESE website or completion of the ParaPro Exam with transcripts (must be in place prior to school interview) Prior paraprofessional experience in K-12 environments preferred, especially supporting students with special needs and classroom behaviors Comfort assisting with toileting, changing, and implementing behavior intervention plans Willingness to float between different school levels/sites as needed throughout the year Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to uphold student dignity and success
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver classroom support under the guidance of certified teachers, with assignments ranging from 1:1 to general classroom assistance depending on student needs Adapt to shifts in location and student assignments as directed by the administration Support students' academic, emotional, and behavioral growth by following established intervention and instructional strategies Maintain confidentiality and a respectful demeanor in all interactions Uphold a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment Schedules vary by assignment:
Middle:
7:00-2:30
High:
7:30-3:00
Elementary:
