Job Description

Job Summary The Pre-K 4 Aide at Ste. Genevieve Du Bois Catholic School supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and faith-centered classroom environment for preschool students. This role assists with daily instruction, supervision, and classroom operations while helping students grow academically, socially, and spiritually in alignment with the mission of the school.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist the lead teacher with implementing daily lessons and classroom activities Provide small-group and individualized support to reinforce early learning skills Supervise students during classroom time, transitions, lunch, recess, and dismissal Support the development of social-emotional skills and positive peer interactions Help maintain a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment Prepare instructional materials, organize supplies, and maintain classroom cleanliness Reinforce classroom expectations and model behavior consistent with Catholic values Assist with classroom management and redirection of student behavior as needed Collaborate with the teacher and staff to support daily program operations Communicate positively with students, staff, and families when appropriate
Job Qualifications:
High school diploma required; coursework in early childhood education preferred Experience working with young children in a school or childcare setting preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to support classroom instruction and manage small groups Dependable, organized, and able to follow direction Patient, nurturing, and attentive to student needs Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff Commitment to supporting a Catholic, faith-based educational environment The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
