The Junior College of Kansas City, as it was known starting in 1919, was one of the first schools in the country to award an associate degree. Today, MCC offers 125 associate degree and certificate programs. Metropolitan Community College comprises five campuses on the Missouri side of the Greater Kansas City area 47 major buildings and about 550 acres in all: MCC-Blue River , located in Independence, Missouri; MCC-Longview located in Lee's Summit, Missouri, MCC-Maple Woods located in the Northland of Kansas City, Missouri; MCC-Online and MCC-Penn Valley , located in Midtown Kansas City, Missouri. Job Summary Incumbents a ssist the lead teacher in delivering engaging classroom instruction, managing student behavior, supervising activities, and facilitating communication between students, parents, and staff.
Essential Functions Support Classroom Instruction:
Assist lead teacher in delivering lessons and facilitating classroom activities, ensuring that students understand the mat5eral and stay engaged. Assisting with
Classroom Management:
Help maintain a positive learning environment by managing student behavior, encouraging participation and addressing any disruptions constructively.
Facilitating Communication:
Serve as a liaison between students, parents, and teachers, communicating important information regarding student progress, behavior and any concerns that may arise.
Supervising Students:
Supervise Students, ensuring their safety and engagement during activities.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma OR equivalent G.E.D. Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Preferred Qualifications :
Additional applicant qualifications and experience will be taken into consideration. Interest in outreach and education
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Proficiency with microscope use and care. Thorough understanding of hematology with the capacity to explain blood cell types and functions. Thorough understanding of veterinary endoparasites and ectoparasites with the capacity to explain parasite consequences, life cycles, treatments. Thorough understanding of necropsy techniques as well as rat anatomy and physiology. Physical Requirements Positions in this class typically requires feeling, grasping, hearing, keyboarding, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.
