The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and special education staff to assist students with diverse needs, including those with disabilities and autism. This role requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting the academic and social development of all students. Responsibilities Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to individual student needs. Support students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum, in both academic and social settings. Help manage classroom behavior by employing effective behavior management strategies. Provide one-on-one or small group instruction in subjects such as math and literacy. Collaborate with special education staff to develop and adapt curriculum materials as needed. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance. Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation from all students. Assist with daily living skills and personal care when necessary, ensuring the dignity and respect of each student. Requirements Experience working with students, particularly those with disabilities or special needs. Familiarity with curriculum development and instructional strategies for diverse learners. Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support positive student interactions. Prior experience in daycare or childcare settings is preferred. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed academically and socially. Ability to work collaboratively as part of an educational team while also being able to take initiative when needed.
