Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Now hiring a dedicated Paraprofessional with strong American Sign Language (ASL) skills to provide invaluable support for a Kindergarten student in a caring, inclusive classroom setting. This contract opportunity is located near Rogersville, MO, and is ideal for someone passionate about fostering communication and growth in a young learner's life. In this role, you'll work closely with classroom educators, focusing on one-on-one support and individualized strategies to help your assigned student thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-on-one assistance to a Kindergarten student with communication needs Utilize fluent ASL skills to reinforce understanding and engagement Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement effective, personalized learning plans Encourage positive behavior and provide emotional support as needed Help facilitate classroom activities and adapt materials for better comprehension Maintain open lines of communication with the educational team and student's family
Desired Skills & Experience:
Compassionate and patient demeanor, especially with young children Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred Strong listening and communication abilities Background in early childhood education, special education, or behavioral support a plus Active Missouri DESE Paraprofessional or Substitute Certificate encouraged but not required Ability to sit or stand on the classroom floor for student interaction Commitment to a Monday through Thursday/Friday schedule, 30 hours per week Reliable transportation and punctuality This is a meaningful chance to utilize your ASL expertise while positively influencing a student's educational journey.
