Building Principal and Assigned Classroom Teacher General Summary:
To assist the student with personal and instructional needs throughout the school day and to provide a well-organized, smooth functioning environment in which the student can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.Essential Functions:
Assists student in accessing transportation if needed. Provides personal care to student with special daily living needs (e.g. toileting, feeding, physical management) if needed Provides review and practice of skills taught by a teacher with students 1:1 and in small groups in special education classroom and/or regular classroom. Refers problems to professional staff. Works with student in schools and in community sites and outings. Prepares instructional materials as directed/selected by teacher. Reinforces instructional/behavioral objectives. Provides clerical assistance to maintaining student records (charting, assignments, attendance, data for progress notes.) Assists with the supervision of student during recess, lunchroom, and on the playground. Maintain the confidentiality of students and their families. Reinforces instructional and behavioral objectives for children. Exhibits the ability to follow teacher directions and written plans. Has the ability to work in a team setting and be flexible. Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Education Level- high school diploma Qualifications
- Working well with students & Ability to follow the instruction of the teacher(s) to whom the aide is assigned. Other requirements
- Must successfully pass a background check that is satisfactory to the Board of Education.
