Job Description

​ Busy dance studio seeking assistant dance instructors for the Belgrade and Bozeman location. Classes are primarily for students ages 3-6. Dance experience is a plus but not a requirement. Must have a love for children, be dependable and reliable. Hours are dependent on individual class need but could start as early at 3:30pm and go as late at 8:00pm Monday through Thursday and 4:00-6:00 on Fridays. Overview:
We are a thriving dance studio located in both Belgrade and Bozeman. Our studio is dedicated to providing exceptional dance education and fostering a love for dance among our students. Position:
Assistant Dance Instructor Open Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-9:00pm and Friday 4:00pm-6:00pm
Location:
81 8th Street, Suite 8, Belgrade, MT 59714 and 10 Evergreen Drive, Bozeman, MT 59715
Functions:
Assist students, individually or in small groups, and strive to communicate a love of dance Reinforces learning concepts and assists students in reaching goals and executing movement correctly Maintains classroom equipment and work area for the purpose of ensuring availability of items and providing an orderly, clean, and safe learning environment Monitors individual and/or groups of students in/out of the dance class Orients and welcomes any new students to the class and provides individual attention to catch them up Reports observations and incidents relating to specific students to the instructor first, then the studio director
Other Job Requirements:
Knowledge is required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job and to ensure the studio's teaching standards are monitored Ability is required to follow written and oral instructions as well as work well with the instructor and young children. This includes working with a wide diversity of individuals such as skill level, learning abilities, special circumstances, etc. Problem-solving is required to identify issues and decide how to take action, work as part of a team, and work with constant interruptions. Experience working with children is desirable
Responsibility:
Working under direct supervision with a class instructor and/or studio director Help set up/take down equipment if needed Welcome students into the studio/classroom Counting dancers off for across-the-floor exercises Assisting/correcting students to do movement properly Taking class roll Helping with dance attire such as shoes, leotards, pulling hair up, etc. Assisting small children with bathroom use Helping backstage at recitals Leading by example and being a good role model (make sure to dress appropriately and professionally for each class and have appropriate shoes)

TDC pays an hourly rate of $16/hr. Yearly potential rate increases are based on performance review and if the studio is profitable. Bonuses are based on the studio's financial performance and your work performance as well as your role and hours worked.
