Job Description
Job Summary Sourdough Montessori is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team, beginning in October. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childcare and special education, with experience working with children 3-6 years old. This role is essential in supporting the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment that fosters childhood development and literacy education. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and curriculum development tailored to preschool-aged children. Support children's learning by facilitating activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and social development. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to ensure a collaborative approach to education. Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to the lead teacher regarding individual needs and achievements. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of special education practices. Requirements Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is essential. Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices, particularly for preschool-aged children. Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning strategies that engage young learners for circle time and small groups. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues. A commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports all learners' needs.
