Dedicated, self-motivated full-time Exceptional Children's Instructional Assistant needed at IC Imagine Charter School in Asheville, NC. Will assist students in kindergarten through 5th grades. Modified, year-round school schedule. Pay based on IC Imagine's Salary Schedule.Duties and Responsibilities:
Must maintain positive and consistent communication with students and teachers related to academics, behavior, and attendance of students Work cohesively in a team setting Ability to work one-on-one with students, as needed Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff Utilize a positive reinforcement behavioral system Assist classroom teacher in performing specific duties as assigned or undertaking specialized tasks to achieve and enhance instructional and behavioral objectives Work with individuals, small groups, or large groups, as assigned Assist with behavior modification, as assigned Escort students, as assigned Monitor students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment Provide programmed practice activities and repetitions, as developed by teacher, therapist or pathologist. Report student concerns directly and expeditiously to the teacher and assist with student resolution. Assist students with breakfast, lunch, snack, including clean-up. Assist students with basic daily living skills. Maintain various records and files. Follow the processes laid out in the employee handbook, respond to emails in a timely manner, and ensure timely feedback is given Perform related work as required. Self-motivated Skilled in problem solving and decision making as well as observation, listening, and coaching Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing Maintain effective working relationships Possess strong time management skills Ability to prioritize workload and multitask in a busy environment Proficiency with GSuiteEducation and Experience:
Minimum High School Diploma 1 year of experience working with students in a school setting, preferredPhysical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, squatting, reaching and bending Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds at times The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
