Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The Carolina Latinx Center ( CLC) supports UNC-Chapel Hill's Latinx communities and educates the campus and beyond through engagement, scholarship, cultural awareness, and public service.

The Carolina Latinx Center provides students, faculty and staff the opportunity to explore Latinx cultures, histories and tradition and to use that understanding to work across racial and ethnic communities in North Carolina and the world. For faculty, staff and students who are engaged in research, teaching and/or service related to Latinx communities and issues, the CLC connects them both with one another and with community partners.

Diversity; Empowerment; Familia; innovation; Orgullo Position Summary The Carolina Latinx Center ( CLC) Program Assistant provides daily administrative, programmatic, and communication support to CLC staff. The CLC Program Assistant will also provide direct support to both the Associate Director and the Director. This position will serve as CLC's initial contact with the public, from greeting visitors to managing the overall office operation. The Program Assistant at the Carolina Latinx Center, serves as the main point of contact for various programs and events, including Enlaces, community outreach to a bilingual elementary school, and other partnerships. They are responsible for coordinating volunteers and communicating expectations. Additionally, the Program Assistant will provide support for other programs like Exitos Awards Ceremony, Latinx Heritage Month Celebration, and more. The Program Assistant will be the primary to organizing the CLC's finances, documents, and more. This position will work in collaboration with the Development Officer to coordinate fundraising efforts, such as coordinating thank-you letters and sending invitations to special donor event, facilitating special events, and applying to grants. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Management Preferences Bilingual in English and Spanish

Previous University experience

Microsoft Suite experience

A willingness to learn and expand current knowledge of platforms

Strong oral and written communication skills. Special Physical/Mental Requirements Campus Security Authority Responsibilities This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
