Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Teacher's Assistant to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for students. The Teacher's Assistant will support daily classroom activities, assist students with their academic work, help maintain positive classroom behavior, and contribute to the social, emotional, spiritual, and academic development of each student. This position is an important part of creating a classroom environment where students feel supported, encouraged, and prepared to learn. Responsibilities Assist the classroom teacher with daily classroom instruction and activities. Provide individual and small-group support to students as directed by the teacher. Help students understand and complete assignments in subjects such as math, English/language arts, science, social studies, and Bible. Support students with different learning needs using patient and encouraging teaching methods. Help maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing classroom environment. Assist the teacher with classroom management and positive behavior support. Monitor students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, and other school activities as assigned. Encourage students in their academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. Help prepare instructional materials, classroom activities, and learning resources. Assist with grading, organizing student work, and maintaining classroom records as directed by the teacher. Help maintain classroom organization and cleanliness. Assist with weekly setup and teardown of the classroom. Work cooperatively with teachers and staff to provide a positive educational experience for students. Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters. Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration. Qualifications & Experience Previous experience working with children is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in a classroom, childcare, church, youth program, or educational setting is a plus. Ability to work patiently and positively with children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team. Ability to assist students with different academic and learning needs. Dependable, responsible, and willing to learn. Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude. A personal commitment to supporting a Christian educational environment.
