Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the educational journey of visually impaired students as a dedicated support assistant. This full-time contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year and offers the chance to work closely with students who require one-on-one paraprofessional assistance in an engaging, supportive school setting.
Key Qualifications:
Associate degree or 48 completed semester hours (required—please include documentation when applying) Previous experience as a paraprofessional in school settings is highly desirable Strong commitment to supporting students with visual impairments Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset Ability to maintain patience, flexibility, and empathy in adapting to individual student needs
Core Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated academic and classroom support to a visually impaired student on a 1:1 basis Implement specialized strategies as directed by education professionals and vision specialists Assist the student in navigating classroom activities, instructional materials, and campus environments Communicate regularly with teachers, therapists, and inclusion specialists to ensure appropriate accommodations Foster an encouraging, positive atmosphere that promotes student independence and self-advocacy
