Group Home Paraprofessional

Job Summary:

As a Group Home Paraprofessional, you will work directly with individuals in a residential setting, assisting them with daily tasks, personal care, and community involvement. Your role is to provide emotional and practical support, ensuring a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for the residents. You will be part of a dynamic team, dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with I/DD.

Responsibilities:

Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and housekeeping tasks. Support clients in developing life skills, such as communication, self-care, and social interaction. Implement care plans developed by the Qualified Professional (QP) to meet each resident's individual needs. Maintain a safe and clean living environment within the group home. Escort and accompany residents to appointments, activities, or outings in the community. Document daily activities, behaviors, and any incidents following company guidelines. Collaborate with other team members to ensure consistent and quality care. Provide emotional support and build positive, trusting relationships with residents. Respond to emergency situations and follow established safety protocols.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage challenging behaviors in a calm, respectful, and compassionate manner. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
