Job Description
Pine Lake Preparatory is currently seeking a Full-time Exceptional Children's (EC) Associate (Assistant) for the Lower School. The Full-time EC Associate should be motivated, flexible, and have the ability to work in diverse teams, as well as with students with a variety of educational needs. The position may either work one-on-one with high needs students or with small groups. Assignment will be dependent upon operational needs. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Provide close student supervision and maintain student safety in all school in all school settings and activities Maintain confidentiality of all student information Interact with students in an age-appropriate manner that demonstrates an appropriate understanding of the student's individual needs, abilities and disabilities Carry out all physical care routines for students as indicated on the Health Plans and/or Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including but not limited to personal hygiene Assist students with daily living skills (i.e. toileting, feeding, cleanliness, etc.) Assist in the organization and implementation of all school related activities Set up and use assistive technology and augmentative communication devices to assist students with school related activities Demonstrate a basic level of computer proficiency needed to assist classroom teacher and students The candidate will be required to uphold standards set by the NC Department of Public Instruction. Desirable applicants will hold a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
