Pre-K Assistant Teacher Discovery Child Development Center Morrisville, NC Job Details Part-time | Full-time $17 - $18 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications School experience Student behavioral guidance Teaching experience with young children Student engagement classroom management Full Job Description Discovery Child Development Center is seeking an experienced assistant Transitional Kindergarten teacher to join our team of dedicated early childhood professionals. This position is in our school-day classroom, which meets from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Discovery takes a project-based approach to early childhood education. We see children as active learners who develop through play, hands-on exploration of objects and materials, and meaningful interactions with peers and teachers. We use evidence-based practices to help children become enthusiastic and motivated learners. We work collaboratively with families to nurture the whole child and build each child's positive sense of self, enthusiasm for learning, and respect for others and their community. Qualifications Previous experience working with children in a preschool, Transitional Kindergarten, kindergarten, or similar early childhood classroom is required Demonstrated ability to support classroom routines, learning activities, and positive behavior A warm, dependable, and positive approach when working with young children, families, and coworkers Strong communication and organizational skills An associate or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred
