Job Description

Description Summary A mission-driven professional who thrives in student-focused environments, enjoys coordinating meaningful educational experiences, and brings both structure and creativity to program operations. The Program Assistant supports the Program Director and TRIO team in delivering high-impact services that strengthen students' academic skills, increase retention, and improve graduation outcomes. This role blends program coordination, student engagement, data management, and event planning to ensure all grant objectives are met. You will work closely with administrators, instructors, campus partners, families, and community organizations to create a supportive, motivating environment that prepares students to earn their associates degree and for successful transfer to a 4-year institution. Knowledge & Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Student Recruitment — Identify, recruit, and enroll eligible participants forSSS. Academic Support Coordination — Oversee tutoring initiatives and structured academic activitiesthat strengthen studentperformance. Program & Event Planning — Plan and execute college visits, cultural and career exposuretrips, workshops for students andfamilies. Data & Reporting — Maintain project databases; generate daily, weekly, and monthly demographicand contact reports; assist with internal and external reporting, including the Department of EducationAPR. Program Operations — Support implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of allprogram activities andservices. Continuous Improvement — Contribute to refining program goals, activities, and policies basedon student needs and fundingrequirements. Family & Community Engagement — Build strong relationships with parents, families, and community partners to enhance studentsupport. Education Minimum:
Associate's Degree .
Experience Minimum:
One (1) to two (2) years of administrative, office management, or student support experience, ideally in higher education. Additional Information Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals,technical procedures, or governmentalregulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and proceduremanuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of theorganization. Mathematical Skills Applies essential math skills—including fractions, decimals, percentages, and ratios—to complete tasks and interpret basic datavisualizations. Reasoning Ability Applies sound judgment to carry out detailed instructions and resolve straightforwardissues independently. Computer Skills Utilizes Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM systems with a high degree of proficiencyto streamline workflows and maintain organized, accuraterecords.
