Preschool Assistant Teacher

We are seeking dedicated assistant teachers to join our team at St. John's Preschool for the 2026-2027 school year. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children through quality education and compassionate care.

Duties:

Assists in creating and maintaining a secure, affectionate, and nurturing environment for young children. Assists Lead Teacher with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities to create a learning environment that allows children to be exposed to a wide range of learning experiences. Manages and supports diverse emotional, behavior, and academic needs of children. Consistently demonstrates professional qualities including respect, reliability, patience, empathy, and adaptability. Attends professional development throughout the school year.

Skills:

Previous preschool teaching experience or teacher's certification preferred. Thorough understanding of preschool principles and early childhood development, including kindergarten readiness expectations. Strong communication written and verbal skills to effectively engage with families, children, and colleagues. Strong skills in behavior management, classroom management, and pre-k care.
