Inquiry EC Teacher Assistant School Mission:
Cape Fear Center for Inquiry is a K-8 public charter school located in Wilmington, NC. CFCI is committed to promoting students' abilities to think and create in personally meaningful ways through an inquiry-based, integrated curriculum in a nurturing and empowering environment.
HOURS:
Part-time, 29 hours per week

$17.60 per hour

Position Responsibilities:
  • Work with Special Needs student(s) with mild/moderate disabilities, including Autism, learning, behavioral and intellectual disabilities
  • Assist teachers in providing modified academic and functional instruction across school settings
  • Assist teachers in data collection
  • Monitor student behavior regulation and encourage positive social skills across all school settings
  • Participate in crisis prevention and restraint training as provided by the school
  • Other duties as assigned by the
EC Coordinator Qualifications:
  • Experience with children with special needs in the school setting preferred
  • Instructional Experience - Specific training and/or teaching experience related to the teaching of students with a wide variety of educational and behavioral needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly and under the supervision of a wide variety of special and general education teachers / administrators in a support capacity
