Job Description
Bismarck Public Schools is accepting applications for an ECSE Instructional Aide at BECEP.
This position requires the Aide to assist in a classroom and provide services (under the direction of a Special Education Teacher) to children ages three to six with an Individual Education Program.
Hours of work will be 7:15 AM-11 AM & 11:30 PM - 3:30 Monday-Thursday.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Will know, understand and support the approved Personnel Policies and Procedures of BECEP and Bismarck Public Schools.
2. Will attend all pre-service and in-service training, and meetings as required.
3. Will participate in daily planning, implementing, and evaluating classroom activities and child performance with the classroom teacher.
4. Will work with individuals or groups of children, without direct supervision, in the classroom or on the playground.
5. Will assist the teacher with the supervision and care of children during designated school hours.
6. Will assist the children with loading and unloading buses, dressing, toileting, diapering, washing, and tooth brushing activities as needed.
7. Will assist the substitute teacher and ensure children's needs are being met in
the absence of the teacher.
8. Will be responsible for all assigned documentation.
9. Will respect the cultural and ethnic values of families.
10. Will maintain confidentiality regarding BECEP children and families.
11. Will demonstrate a caring approach when working with children and their families.
12. Will communicate all child information and questions to teacher.
13. Must be physically able to lift and carry children and equipment. (Up to 25 pounds)
14. Will be aware of and follow all safety and emergency procedures.
15. Will act as a positive, contributing team member in working with staff.
16. Will provide own transportation.
17. Other related duties as assigned.
EVALUATIONS
All jobs will be evaluated on a formal basis at least once per
calendar year. Additional evaluation may be required at the discretion of the supervisor.
