A Teacher Assistant assists classroom teachers by providing extra individual attention and instruction to students. Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

Develop de-escalation skills using a multi tier system support No weekends Before and/or After school hours available $25 gym reimbursement Career development opportunities What we ask: - Availability to work 4 shifts a week minimum. Before and/or after school hours for the LPS calendar year, summers off, Before- and after-school hours, as well as hiring and scheduling for shifts, are based on the program's scheduling needs and may vary accordingly. Communicate positively and be respectful of fellow team members. Build and support relationships with school personnel and partners. Maintain a safe learning environment for program participants.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school or GED equivalent required unless actively pursuing high school or GED equivalent.
OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS
Basic Life Support (CPR) and Basic First Aid certification are required at the time of employment or to be completed within 60 days of hire.
REQUIRED
In-person orientation, a background check, reliable transportation, and attendance at required in-person trainings after hiring are required. Some basic technology knowledge and comfort using technology are a great asset for this position.
