JOB GOAL
Assist the teacher in providing education and instruction to students

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Consistent and punctual attendance Assist special education teacher in helping students with behavioral and/or emotional disabilities
Listens to students read, and reads to students
Helps students with make-up work
Assists in individual or group activities, games, flash cards, computers, etc.
Assists students in interpreting and following directions of teacher
Reinforce social skills the teacher has taught
Alerts teacher to needs of students
Assists teacher in checking progress of individuals
Supervises lunchroom, playground, halls, classrooms and other assigned activities
Assists with the physical and health needs of the children
Inventories books, materials and equipment
Assists when emergencies arise
Performs other delegated responsibilities assigned by teacher or administrator
