JOB GOAL
To assist the teacher in providing education and instruction to the students
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
9 months; 30 hours/week
EVALUATION
Evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the district's Personnel Evaluation Policy
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Consistent and punctual "on site" attendance at the worksite is an essential job function
Works cooperatively with classroom and special education teaching team to provide quality instruction and supervision
Uses positive forms of communication with children in the classroom
Demonstrates confidentiality
Helps in the care of the classroom including sanitizing classroom toys and materials
Assists special education students in the classroom by providing additional supports such as hand-over-hand guidance, expectations reminders, and movement breaks
Assembles and organizes materials to be used during instruction by Classroom Teachers and Special Education Teachers
Interacts with children during play by expanding on vocabulary and social skills
Supports the Special Education Teacher by documenting objective observation notes
Assist with inventory of supplies and equipment
Other duties as assigned by the Special Education Teacher or Preschool Principal
