Job Description
Job Summary Our family owned business of 44 years is seeking a dedicated and energetic Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. This full-time role offers flexible scheduling options from either 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., providing an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on young children's development. As an Assistant Teacher, you will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for children in preschool and daycare settings. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster a love of learning while ensuring each child's individual needs are met with care and professionalism. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote early childhood development and learning. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, nap times, and transitions to ensure safety at all times. Support children with daily routines, including diapering, potty training, and personal hygiene practices in accordance with health and safety standards. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence among children. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behaviors, and daily experiences to foster strong home-school connections. Follow mandated reporting laws by recognizing signs of abuse or neglect and reporting concerns promptly and appropriately. Support classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior, social skills, and emotional regulation among children. Must be able to get on / off floor and lift a child up to 30 pounds Experience Prior experience working with young children in preschool, daycare, nannying, babysitting, or similar caregiving roles is highly preferred. Knowledge of child development instruction principles and early childhood education best practices is essential. Previous experience working within daycare centers or early childhood education environments will support success in this role.
