Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the classroom by supporting students and teachers as a full-time paraprofessional. This contract position offers an enriching opportunity to assist elementary and middle school students with their academic and behavior goals in a vibrant learning environment near Edison, NJ. Your role will be vital in delivering individualized support, helping ensure each student thrives both academically and socially. You'll collaborate closely with educators and students, adapting to different classroom needs and evolving situations. What we're looking for: Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a classroom support capacity A passion for working with children and fostering an inclusive environment Understanding of academic and behavior management strategies Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to patiently and creatively motivate students Flexibility to assist across various grade levels and adapt to changing needs High school diploma or equivalent (additional relevant credentials are a plus) Key responsibilities: Provide hands-on support to students in both academic activities and behavior management Assist lead teachers with classroom management and instructional preparation Offer individual or small group assistance based on student needs Monitor and document student progress and behavior Implement teacher-directed interventions and modifications Help create an engaging, supportive, and positive classroom environment Maintain confidential records and follow school policies and protocols Enjoy competitive pay ranging from $20 to $24 per hour, with an opportunity to build valuable classroom experience while contributing positively to student development.
