Teachers Assistant

Teachers Assistant Position Summary Work with a team of teachers, assistant teachers, teacher aides and volunteers to foster a safe and nurturing learning environment for children ages 0-5. Primary Position Responsibilities 1. Demonstrates ability to support a Lead in the management and supervision of a classroom environment. 2. Support a Lead Teacher in the creation and implementation of a stimulating and age-appropriate curriculum for children. 3. Supervises and guides children in safe play both indoors and outdoors. 4. Maintains a clean environment and ensures all surfaces and toys are disinfected. 5. Assist children with feeding, toileting, proper diaper changing requirements and personal care as appropriate.

Qualifications Minimum Education :

Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred:

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation) :

Required:

Maintains the annual continuing education hour requirements in the designated fields of study as mandated by the Division of Children & Families' Office of Licensing.

Preferred:

1 - 3 years in an Early Childhood Care Center environment

License, Registry or Certification :

Required:

Obtains Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certification within 6 months of hire, Obtains

CARI & CHRI

clearance

Abilities :

Required:

Ability to support a Lead Teacher in the development and implementation of age-appropriate lesson plans based on monthly thematic units. Ability to supervise and manage groups of children insuring their health and safety.
