Part Time-Teachers Assistant 920 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873 Part-time Part-time Overview Join our vibrant educational team as a Part-Time Teachers Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners. In this role, you will support classroom teachers by fostering a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment that promotes early childhood development and academic growth. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children, including those with diverse needs such as disabilities or autism, ensuring they receive the personalized attention necessary to thrive. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans focused on literacy, math, and social-emotional skills aligned with early childhood education standards. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a safe, organized learning environment. Work directly with children to promote their developmental milestones through tutoring, mentoring, and individualized support. Help facilitate activities that enhance childhood development, including Montessori or other specialized educational approaches. Provide care and supervision during classroom activities, recess, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety and engagement. Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and assist with assessments or proofreading of student work. Support students with disabilities or autism by adapting activities and providing tailored assistance to foster inclusion and participation. Skills Strong understanding of special education principles and childhood development practices. Experience in literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management techniques. Proven ability to work effectively with children of various ages and developmental stages. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and students. Ability to provide nurturing childcare while maintaining discipline and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with working in private schools or Montessori environments is a plus. Demonstrated patience and mentoring skills to support individual student needs and foster a positive learning atmosphere.
