Job Description

Mt. Lakes Country Day School is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our Pre-K classroom . You will be working alongside another assistant to support a group of 15 children , aged 4-5 years old.
Schedule:
Part-time hours: 9:00AM-1:00PM 5 days per week , based on availability We offer a rewarding and supportive environment with one of the lowest teacher-to-child ratios in the area . Our assistant teachers play a key role in creating a nurturing and engaging space for children to learn and grow. Responsibilities include participating in developmentally appropriate activities such as tabletop and floor play, reading, art projects, and more .
Job Description:
  • Support a calm and nurturing environment as children transition from structured activities to the afternoon routine
  • Engage children in quiet, developmentally appropriate activities , such as reading, puzzles, art, or imaginative play
  • Assist with snack time , including setup, cleanup, and helping children with basic needs
  • Supervise indoor and outdoor free play , ensuring safety and encouraging positive social interactions
  • Clean and organize the classroom at the end of the day, including sanitizing toys and wiping down surfaces
  • Support a smooth and safe dismissal process , ensuring each child is signed out with the correct authorized adult
