Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant educational community as a Teacher Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. In this role, you will support lead teachers in implementing engaging curriculum activities, managing classroom behavior, and providing individualized attention to students. Your passion for early childhood development and special education will contribute to the growth and success of diverse learners, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs. Duties Assist lead teachers in planning and executing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional skills. Support children's learning by providing one-on-one or small group instruction tailored to individual needs, Help manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques. Facilitate communication using American Sign Language (ASL) when appropriate to support deaf or hard-of-hearing students. Prepare classroom materials, organize learning centers, and maintain a clean, safe environment conducive to active learning. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding developmental milestones or concerns related to childhood development or disabilities. Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and parents to develop and implement individualized plans that support each child's educational journey. Skills Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages. Experience working with children in preschool or toddler care settings, preferably within private or Montessori schools. Knowledge of special education practices, including working with students with autism, developmental disabilities, and implementing IEP goals. Proficiency in classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and engagement. Ability to develop age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math skills, and social-emotional learning. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with children, parents, teachers, and specialists. Familiarity with curriculum development for preschool or early childhood classrooms; experience with Montessori methods is a plus.
