Job Description

Teacher's Assistant/Aide Schedule:
Monday to Friday 7:30 am-2:15 pm The position begins in September 2024. Ø Assist the Lead Teacher with any and all activities, care of the children, and classroom management. Ø Ability to work independently and can implement direction given by the Lead. Ø Manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials. Ø Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling. Ø Follow all school policies and procedures of the school and the State of NJ Dept. of Children and Families Department of Licensing. Ø Follow all curriculum guidelines per Sayreville Public School's policies. Ø Maintain professional development to ensure continuous quality improvement. Ø Develop positive relationships with students, fellow staff members, and parents. Ø Ability to work one on one with students that need additional support using activities provided with patience and calm. Ø A love of working with children is a must. Ø Patience, caring, and kindness are required traits for Peace Rose staff. Ø Able to lift a child approximately 40 lbs several times a day if needed. Ø Physical ability to sit on the floor with children when needed. Ø Must be upbeat and an energetic team player with a positive attitude. Ø Must enjoy working with children. Ø Must arrive on time. Ø Assist with arrival and dismissal, greeting parents/guardians and getting bus children safely on and off the bus. Experience working with young children preferred, Montessori training or knowledge a plus. Babysitting, Caring for your own children, any other childcare experience. High school diploma or GED required. Must be 18 or older. Opportunity for growth. Pay based on experience and level of education.
