Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant educational community as a Teacher Assistant, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster a nurturing environment for young learners. In this role, you will support classroom teachers in implementing engaging lesson plans, managing daily activities, and providing individualized attention to students. Your energy and compassion will contribute to creating an inclusive space that promotes growth, curiosity, and confidence among children of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Duties Assist lead teachers in delivering curriculum aligned with developmental milestones, including literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and sensory activities. Support children with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapting activities to meet their unique requirements. Foster positive behavior management strategies to promote respectful interactions and a safe learning environment. Use American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods to support children with communication challenges. Help organize classroom materials, prepare lesson supplies, and maintain a clean, inviting learning space. Engage with children during playtime, circle time, and structured activities to encourage participation and social skills development. Collaborate with teachers and specialists in curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment of student progress. Skills Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Experience working with children with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and developmental delays. Knowledge of Deaf education techniques and experience working with individuals who use American Sign Language. Classroom management skills to effectively guide behavior and maintain a positive learning environment. Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, teachers, and specialists. Ability to adapt instructional strategies for diverse learners within inclusive settings such as Montessori or preschool classrooms. Familiarity with curriculum development for literacy education, math instruction, and preschool activities. Previous experience in childcare or private school environments is preferred but not required.
