Farmington Elementary School $22.00 per hour 2026-27 school year 13.3 hrs/week This is a para position in SPED and media for
Thursdays and Fridays Summary:
Provide assistance to teachers in meeting the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities. Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce motor, academic, social, self-care or communication skills under the direction of the teacher. Assisting the teacher(s) in devising strategies for reinforcing skills based on understanding of students needs, interests and abilities. Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each student's special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional need. Assist students with physical disabilities according to their needs, including transferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting, and positioning.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Experience working with children, work experience in educational setting preferred. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent and AA degree or 60 semester college credits or pass the para pro test. Six months experience working with children or six months of post secondary education in the areas of early childhood, speech pathology, education special education or other similar field of study may be substituted for experience, See attached Job Description for detailed knowledge, skills and abilities required.
