PART TIME TEACHING ASSISTANT
- Morning 2 POSITION This is a Year Round Position.
Hours:
7:45-1:00p Please ONLY apply if you have experience working with students/children or on a study plan to work in Early Childhood Education. College Student Preferred. Kid Krazy Preschool in Astoria Queens, which provides care and education for children 1 year to 5 years of age, is searching for an energetic personality that takes early childhood education seriously and who is not afraid to get silly with our little one's but knowledgeable about early childhood education or willing to learn. A candidate that can take direction and communicate effectively with their team, administration, and our parents. Candidates must be able to work Monday thru Friday consecutively at the shift hired.Rate of Pay:
$18- $20 The following requirements are needed: 1. A minimum of 2 years' experience working with young children
- in classroom setting preferred 2.
Physical Demands:
This position requires the following physical activities: pushing, pulling, climbing, walking, standing, squatting, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, lifting, bending, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.At times:
lifting children (apprx 40 lbs) or moving furniture for cleaning.Responsibilities :
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing curriculum development activities for the classroom
- Provide support and supervision to children in a daycare or toddler care setting
- Communicate effectively with both children and parents/guardians
- Assist in creating a safe and nurturing environment for early childhood education
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and implement age-appropriate activities
- Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through play and structured learning experiences
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and materials
Qualifications :
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of early childhood development and literacy education
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with young children
- Associates degree; additional coursework in early childhood education is a plus
