Job Description

Teacher Aide is part of the education team who assists in daily activities and lessons in the daycare classroom. Reports to the Lead Teacher and works with the Lead and the Assistant Teacher to ensure all needs are met for both the children and the program. As a Floater, will work a regular schedule but be assigned to various classrooms as needed at our Malta site.
Job Duties:
  • Assists teaching staff in all classroom activities, children/parent activities, and implementing lesson plans.
  • Helps monitor children during activities, outdoor play, meals, breaks and transitions to ensure safety and positive behavior.
  • Maintains a clean, organized classroom environment that complies with daycare regulations and health standards. There will be a legally permissible background check for the successful candidate. Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Experience working in a classroom with daycare/preschool children. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Familiarity interacting with teaching staff and parents and/or guardians.
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain Basic First Aid and CPR certification within the initial probationary period and maintain certification.
  • Acceptable tuberculosis screening results and an initial health exam are required post job offer and prior to employment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, possess own transportation and be able to drive a company vehicle on roads in varying weather conditions if necessary.
