Transitional Services for New York, Inc., not-for profit, is a comprehensive, community-based mental health organization located in New York City. We provide a continuum of rehabilitative services to enrich the lives of those recovering from mental illness and facilitate their transition to increased levels of independence. Transitional Services for New York, Inc. envisions broadening its rehabilitative services and becoming a regional social service provider. Transitional Services for New York Staff will deliver effective programs with compassion, integrity, and professionalism. Program Assistant TSINY, a non-profit mental health services agency seeks a Program Assistant in Bellerose (Queens), NY.
Salary:
Program Assistant :
$45,000 annually; $24.72 per hour Position Summary Perform administrative and office support activities. Duties include, but are not limited to, word processing, filing, faxing and compiling statistical reports. Software knowledge, organizational skills and strong communication skills are required. Essential Functions
  • Carry out all administrative responsibilities such as filing, faxing, copying and scanning.
  • Collect and record tenant rent payments and send to fiscal department.
  • Keep a record of tenants' arrears payments.
  • Maintain record of leases for scattered-site apartments.
  • Maintain spreadsheet of approved worksheets.
  • Prepare monthly statistics reports.
  • Maintain apartment key cabinet.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in all trainings as assigned.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and to perform data entry tasks.
  • Provide coverage of the reception desk and answer phones.
  • Be able to sit or stand as needed with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • May require walking, primarily on a level surface, for short periods of time throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Be able to reach above shoulder heights, below the waist or lift as required to file documents or storage materials throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • During a declared disaster, assume and adhere to assigned job Action role(s) consistent with Disaster Preparedness Plan.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Experience/Education/Skills/Abilities High School Diploma, computer literate, excellent typing skills with at least two years progressively responsible related experience. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong attention to detail. Ability to multi-task.
