Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Aide to support classroom teachers and enhance the learning environment for students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of childhood development, special education, and classroom management techniques. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with children, including those with disabilities or special needs, fostering a positive and inclusive educational experience. The Teacher Aide will play a vital role in promoting student engagement, ensuring safety, and assisting with instructional activities in accordance with educational standards and regulations. Responsibilities Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans across various subjects such as literacy, math, and early childhood education. Support classroom behavior management strategies to create a respectful and productive learning environment. Supervise children during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and other school-related events to ensure safety and appropriate conduct. Provide individualized support to students with disabilities or special needs, including those with autism or other developmental challenges. Use educational technologies and computers to facilitate interactive learning experiences for students. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities. Collaborate with teachers to develop instructional materials, proofread assignments, and assist in tutoring or mentoring students as needed. Maintain compliance with all educational regulations and policies such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), ensuring adherence to safety standards like first aid and CPR when necessary. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and behavior management techniques. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs, including autism spectrum disorder. Familiarity with classroom technologies and educational software applications. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff members. Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while maintaining a positive attitude. Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is expected. Demonstrated understanding of educational compliance standards such as ESSA regulations. Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
