1:1 Part-Time Caregiver for Adult with Special Needs - Daily Hygiene Support (DSP) [SM] NY Support Broker Delmar, NY Job Details Part-time From $27 an hour 10 hours ago Qualifications Assisting with ADLs High school diploma or GED Driver's License Personal grooming assistance Decision making Direct support Adolescents Full Job Description We are looking for a dependable, compassionate caregiver/Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide part-time support for a 27-year-old adult with autism. This position is focused primarily on assisting with his daily hygiene routine in a calm, patient, and respectful manner. This is an ideal role for someone who lives in or very near the Wilton, NY area and is looking for consistent, meaningful part-time work. Because the daily shifts are short, local availability is strongly preferred.
Rate of pay:
$27/hr Schedule Daily hygiene support is needed Monday through Sunday, but we are open to hiring someone for as many days as they are available. Shifts are generally 1.5 to 2 hours per day . There is also a 2-3 hour Wednesday shift , with some flexibility on the start time. Responsibilities Provide steady, patient support with daily hygiene routines Assist with personal care, including hygiene, grooming, and toileting Follow established care routines and individualized support strategies Maintain safety, privacy, and dignity during hands-on support Communicate effectively with family regarding routines, needs, and any concerns Complete any required documentation or training Requirements High school diploma or GED Valid NYS driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to work independently, maintain healthy boundaries, and use sound judgment Comfort providing hands-on personal care support Dependability and consistency with scheduled shifts Willingness to complete required documentation and training What We're Looking For Someone who is patient, dependable, calm, and respectful, who understands the importance of routine and can provide support in a steady, reassuring way. This is a meaningful part-time opportunity for someone local to Wilton who wants to make a positive difference while providing practical daily support.
